contact@joinhippo.comOn the web or mobile app, select “Sign up” to create an account with your email address and password, or continue with Google. After you sign up, onboarding helps you set up your profile and choose favorite categories, brands, and stores so Hippo can personalize your recommendations.
After signing in, you can like a product, deal, collection, brand, or store in two places: select the heart icon on its card while browsing, or open its details page and select the heart there. To read comments or add your own message, open the details page and select the comment icon.
Collections bring related products or deals together in one place. User-created collections are lists made by Hippo users to save and organize products or deals, such as wishlists, gift ideas, or items to compare. Hippo also has collections selected and organized by the Hippo team instead of an individual user. These are called curated collections. Users can create Product or Deal collections, but they cannot create curated collections.
You can follow People, Brands, Stores, and Collections to keep up with their activity. Select Follow on a person’s profile or People card, on a brand or store card or detail page, or on a collection detail page. You can also manage people from the Followers and Following lists on your profile. To stop following, select Following or Unfollow. Follow controls are not shown on your own People card. Products and Deals cannot be followed. Like them or save them to a collection instead.
Home helps you keep up with popular deals and activity across Hippo. Hot Deals highlights popular deals, while What’s New shows recent activity from people you follow when you are signed in. To discover more, open Products or Deals and select Explore. When recommendations are available for your account, For You suggests products or deals based on the favorite categories, brands, and stores you selected.
Open the product or deal and select Share. You can send it in a new or existing Hippo conversation; share it through WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook, X, or email; copy its link; or open your device’s sharing menu. You can view your Hippo conversations in Chats.
Open a one-to-one conversation with the person, open the conversation details or menu, and choose Block or Mute. Blocking makes the person and all of their content and activity inaccessible to you, including their profile, collections, posts, likes, and comments, and prevents direct messages between you. Muting keeps the conversation and content available but stops notifications from that person. To undo either action, open Settings → Account → Blocked users or Muted users.
Yes. Go to Settings → Preferences → Notifications to manage your notification preferences.

Go to Settings → Support → Report a problem to send us a bug report directly from the app. You can also email us at contact@joinhippo.com and we’ll look into it.
